Why Wikipedia Matters to your Brand

Wikipedia is the cited source for the Google Knowledge Panel description of any topic with an article, and is also a top organic result in search. Wikipedia is what Alexa, Siri, and Google read from when users ask about a brand, and is also a contributing source for ChatGPT and other AI answers.

Oftentimes, readers (including journalists) turn to Wikipedia before a company’s website because the encyclopedia is perceived as being an independent and reliable source of information about activities and history. The site has traffic in the millions on any given month.

For all of these reasons, Wikipedia is more important to a brand's digital presence than most digital channels and ignoring it should not be an option.
